Our one-of-a-kind Colorado King I stern wheeler has been featured in news stories across the desert southwest. The boat is 57 feet long, 18 feet wide and weighs 15 tons, yet draws only 12 inches of water when fully loaded. A turbo-charged 185-horsepower John Deere diesel engine powers adjustable paddles that move up and down and have independent paddle speed to control the Colorado King's steering system. Seating is available on the covered open-air upper deck or the enclosed lower deck, or you may wander freely. The restroom and a small snack bar are located on the lower deck. Reservations are required.
Your relaxing three-hour cruise begins as our captain and crew welcome you aboard the Colorado King. The captain's narration includes a fascinating history of the Colorado River's riverboats which navigated the untamed river more than a century ago.
